In ladle service, slide gate plates areexposed to sudden thermal shock, physical abrasion by molten steel, as well asphysical and chemical corrosion by molten steel and slay. One of recenttendencies among slide gate plates damages is the increase of corrosion due tocasting of Ca-alloy treated or high oxygen steel.
